On May 9, 2026 Compatriot Harold Gonzales represented the Louisiana Society and the Chapter at his Second Patriot Grave Marking. The ceremony was for Sgt. William McIntosh who served with the Swamp Fox in the Revolution. He was in uniform and served on the Color Guard, led the SAR Pledge, and even got to serve on the cannon crew. The ceremony was attended by 85 people and the SC State President.

On May 5, 2026, Compatriot Harold Gonzales presented the SAR ROTC Medal to the Sumter SC Civil Air Patrol Squadron. Wore his Louisiana medal.

 

April 27, 2026, Compatriot Harold Gonzales gave the presentation on Spain and the South Carolina Navy’s cooperation in the capture of the Bahamas. It was an America 250 program, in uniform, and was attended by 28 members of the society. They recorded the presentation and the video is on his Facebook page (Hal Gonzales). He also did a new AI of The Siege of Fort Watson.

On April 25, 2026, Compatriot Harold Gonzales Represented the Chapter and the Louisiana Society at Fort Watson, South Carolina. He Served as Chaplin, Color Guard and was in uniform. 26 people attended the event.

 


On April 16, 2026, Harold Gonzales gave a presentation on "How Spain and the South Carolina Navy cooperated in the capture of the Bahamas!" Hal wore his new summer uniform. This was an America 250 event for DAR and the county. There were 25 people in attendance.

 

March 21, 2026 Meeting was full of Rewards and Surprises! Fun for all.


Chapter President A. Gervais Compton III presented Kay Michiels with a certificate of appreciation for her presentation on her role as the Chief Administrative Officer and Executive Counsel of the City of Alexandria.
 
 
Kay Michiels also received the Bronze Good Citizenship Medal.
 
 
Past President Mike Lee presented Compton with a Bronze Meritorious Service Medal for service as Chapter President. Compton was also presented his Past President Pin.
 
 
Teresa Compton received the Lydia Darragh Medal. Cheryl Morock received a bronze oak leaf cluster for her Lydia Darragh Medal.
 

Secretary Brent Morock was awarded the Bronze Henry Knox Achievement Medal.
 
Past President Mike Sawrie inducted the 2026 Officers: Darrell Poole, PhD, President; Pat Ryan, Vice President; Brent Morock, Secretary-Registrar-Treasurer; James Morock, Sr., MD, Chaplain.

David Gremillion presented the Galvez Medal and Certificate to Kathleen Duval on Mar 11th, 2026 at the UNC retired faculty Association lunch. It is no exaggeration to say that she was absolutely thrilled.

Hal Gonzales presented his new presentation on Spain’s cooperation with the South Carolina Navy in the capture of the Bahamas in the closing years of the American Revolution.
